Gleaners for the Lord is a not for profit 501c organized for hunger relief in northern IL. We are an all volunteer organization based out of Downers Grove, IL. No one receives a salary, we believe in sacrificial giving of resources as well as time. While the board members are all Christian, we share with all faiths as well as non believers. We believe if Christ is in us, some of him should show through!
Primarily we are field gleaners, picking up the leftovers after the harvest. Just like in the Book of Ruth. In 2006 we distributed free of charge to the needy in Northern Il. over 1.79 Million pounds of food! |
